A story you really never knew...

A visit to the grave of Hannah Arnold, mother of Benedict Arnold, who was an American military officer who served during the Revolutionary War. He fought with distinction for the American Continental Army and rose to the rank of Major General before defecting to the British side of the conflict in 1780. He led the British army in battle against the soldiers whom he had once commanded, after which his name became synonymous with treason and betrayal.

A fascinating history lesson!

  1. The absolute disgusting pity of that man’s life is the fact that he was truly a brilliant tactician who unfortunately let his ego get in the way of his career. My college professor stated Arnold requested his American dress uniform on his deathbed and while the story might be apocryphal, it makes me even more furious at his treason.

  2. History does repeat itself. Look at today's "generals". Many crave fame and fortune for themselves instead of making our country safe, secure, proud and great.
Seems as if you had a good history professor, Bobo!
