Friday Night Steam

 Sounds from my childhood......

Train rides to New Hampshire to visit Grandma and Grandpa on their farm, I loved it there. It was called "Blueberry Hill". And there were HORSES! I was in heaven!

One year,  my brother and I traveled by train  to Melbourne, Florida  with my aunt and uncle. I remember the long, long train ride. And when we arrived, the heat and those awful sand spurs made the trip not a very pleasant one!  My uncle was a carpenter and build houses down there. We only went once.

But looking back, I wish I could do it all over again!

Giant radishes!

Very, very spicy! Could only eat them if they were sliced  very, very thin!

 It was hot again yesterday:

(But we did get a few showers in the afternoon).

More tomatoes - the are delicious!

Benji being annoyed that he can't jump up on the roost bar. The girls are in his spot - he likes to be next to the big door:

 He finally made it!

Field trip...

 .... for Reba and Dolly!

First time they were let out in the yard.

The stayed mighty close to Benji and Chipper!

They loved scratching in the grass and dirt and followed Benji when he went back to the pen.

The corn is doing great so far .....

..... and so is the melon!

 First harvest from the garden!

Gets hot in Coopville during the day:

Then storm clouds and rain in the evening:

The gang getting an egg treat:

Going to miss this tree when it gets cut down soon:

Got stung by a wasp. Lordy! My hand and fingers swelled up and turned black and blue!

Looks like a dinosaur claw! Yuck!

Luckily I took all my rings off right away.

Chickenmom is NOT a happy camper.........

Friday Night Steam

Tonight we're off to Michigan!  Michigan?  'Yup!

Michigan probably isn't the first state you think of when it comes to railroads. Instead you'd probably think about Michigan's history with the automobile industry but before automobiles, Detroit was well known for producing railroad cars! Despite that, Michigan is home to several railroad inventions, innovations, milestones, and general firsts that've contributed not only to railroads of the United States, but to the railroads of the world!
